Nope. The TV remote control is not possessed by an evil spirit. It is right now possessed by my mom. You see, it is the daily soap opera time on "Sun TV". She will rather take a rampaging T-Rex head on than lose ownership of the remote. All you Tamil guys who live with your family can probably understand what I mean.
And how good are these Mega Soaps worth fighting for? Trust me... the amount of nonsense in these soaps are absolutely fatal to mere mortals like you and me.
Not even a Tsunami can make her let go of the remote control. Nice Tsunami joke...eh?
I hate it. Period.
I absolutely hate it when people use the Tsunami (That's the Dec '04 Indian Ocean Tsunami in case you aren't from India) to crack a joke. It is total callousness on the part of the people who do this. It is also an insult to the memory of the people who died ( 10000+ in India alone) due to the Tsunami. You don't hear any Americans joke about 9/11 do you? The other day I saw actor Vivek crack a joke about Tsunami in the movie "Anniyan". Will someone tell him that IT IS NOT FUNNY!!!
I have been watching heartening stuff about the Tsunami vicitims rehabilitation all day. The resilience of the human spirit is amazing. I heard that the district collector is doing a good job in Nagapattinam. Hope he keeps it that way. Nothing more to add right now.
PS: I am sorry about the Tsunami joke that I used too... but I had to drive home the point with an example
