Down the highway to hell

Wow! What an experience!

I have never been to a rock concert before, though I would give my right arm to hear Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd live. Of course, I have not been able to attend concerts by the legends themselves, but Parikrama more than made up for it.

Parikrama were in the Chennai yesterday, playing for the Times Of India organized "Times Chennai Festival" and I grabbed the chance to hear them live. And to say the least...

Man! I am impressed!

Sonam Sherpa is a wizard with the Guitar and along with Imran on the violin created magic on stage. Any mention of Parikrama would of course be incomplete without talking about lead vocalist Nitin Malik who had the crowd regularly revved up. Though they played international popular numbers, they did just as great with their original compositions too.

After hearing them live, I feel sad that this band is not as popular as singers/music directors in Bollywood are. However, thanks to Parikrama, I was able to let my hair down and go crazy after a long time.

Rock on Parikrama! Keep the light of Indian Rock alive!
